A: The following items are required to use the Samsung Print Service Plugin:
A smartphone or tablet with the Android Operating System, version 4.4 or later.
A printer, MFP, or print accessory that is Mopria-certified. Go to the Mopria-certified website to view the list of compatible printers.
A wireless network. Your mobile device and printer must have Wi-Fi enabled and be connected to the same network, or your printer must have Wi-Fi Direct enabled.

Mopria develops standards offering a simple and seamless way to print or scan to any Mopria certified printer, multi-function printer or scanner. It eliminates the need to install any additional software or drivers, allowing you to easily print or scan, regardless of the printer or scanner brand.

A: If your printer is not detected by the Samsung Print Service Plugin, verify the following:
Make sure your printer supports the Samsung Print Service Plugin. Your printer must be Mopria-certified to use this service. To view a list of Mopria-certified printers, go to https://mopria.org/certified-products.
Make sure the Samsung Printer Service Plugin is enabled on your mobile device. To enable the service, go to Settings > Printing (or Settings > Advanced Settings > Printing on your mobile device.
Ensure your mobile device is connected to the same network as your printer, or your printer has Wi-Fi Direct enabled.
If your printer is still not detected, try the following tips:
Clear the Print Spooler data using the following steps:
For Android 5.0 or earlier: Go to Settings > Application Manager > All Apps > Print Spooler > Clear Data.
For Android 6.0 or later: Go to Settings > Applications > Application Manager > More > Show System Apps > Print Spooler > Storage > Clear Data.
Try adding the printer manually by using the printer's IP address.
A: Follow these steps to manually add a printer:
On your mobile device, go to Settings > Printing (or Settings > Advanced Settings > Printing.
Tap Samsung Print Service Plugin.
Tap the three dots icon (or Menu icon) and choose Add Printer.
Enter your printer's IP address.
If you prefer, add your printer manually during the printing process using the following steps:
Tap All printers.
Tap the + icon or Add Printer item. You might have to scroll to the bottom of the printer list to locate this icon.
Tap Samsung Print Service Plugin.
Tap Add Printer.
Enter your printer's IP address.
A: To connect via Wi-Fi Direct, complete the following steps:
Verify Wi-Fi Direct is enabled within the Samsung Print Service Plugin (Printing settings > Search for Wi-Fi Direct printers).
Ensure Wi-Fi Direct Mode is enabled in your printer. Refer to the printer manufacturer's support page for details.
On your mobile device, after tapping print or sharing content to the Samsung Print Service Plugin, select the Wi-Fi Direct printer, which is generally a printer with DIRECT at the start of the name. Then follow the connection steps as prompted by the mobile device notifications and/or printer lights and front panel.
Depending on your Android version you may be required to enable location services and give location permission to Samsung Print Service Plugin.
A: For a printer you've manually added, follow these steps:
On your mobile device, go to Settings > Printing (or Settings > Advanced Settings > Printing.
Tap Samsung Print Service Plugin.
Tap the three dots icon (or Menu icon) and choose Add Printer.
A list of previously added printers will be displayed.
Tap the printer you want to remove.
Tap Forget Printer to remove the printer from the list.
For a printer you've printed to before:
Start printing a document or photo.
Tap All printers.
Long-press the printer you want to remove.
Select Forget printer. The printer will be removed the next time you print.
A: The Samsung Print Service Plugin supports the following file formats:
PDF
JPEG
HTML
PNG
TXT
Share, Open as or View with supported file formats (note: sharing multiple PDF files or photo files is not supported.)

A: The "Save as PDF..." feature is provided by the operating system and not by the Samsung Print Service Plugin.
A: When you first select a printer, the Samsung Print Service Plugin communicates with the printer to retrieve its capabilities. During this time, you will not be able to change the print settings. If the print settings do not appear within about 10 seconds, press the Back button and try printing or sharing again. Busy networks or slow network connections can be a cause of this issue.
A: Follow these steps to cancel a print job:
On the printer control panel, tap the Cancel button.
On your mobile device, swipe the notification bar (at the top of the screen) down, or tap on the print progress notification, and then tap the Cancel button.
A: The Samsung Print Service Plugin does not support printing encrypted PDF files. This is a security limitation to protect your file. Please use another app to decrypt the file before printing.
A: The Samsung Print Service Plugin does not support printing password protected PDF files. This is a security limitation to protect your file. Please use another app to open your file and save it without a password before printing.
A: If PDF files are always opened by the Samsung Print Service Plugin then you may have set it as the default app for PDFs. Starting with Android version 6.0, default apps can be set automatically.
To change this behavior, follow one of these procedures to change the default settings:
Samsung Galaxy phones: Go to Settings > Applications > Default applications > Default app selection, and then tap Ask before setting default apps.
Other devices: Go to Settings > Applications > Default applications > Set as default > Samsung Print Service Plugin, and then tap Clear Defaults.
A: The Samsung Print Service Plugin does not support printing via USB. We recommend wireless printing. Please ensure your mobile phone and your printer are both connected to the same wireless network.
A: Follow these steps to uninstall the Samsung Print Service Plugin:
For non-Samsung branded phones: Go to Android application manager > Samsung Print Service Plugin, and then tap Uninstall.
For some Samsung phones and tablets: The Samsung Print Service Plugin is installed by default and cannot be removed. However, you can uninstall the updates. If you do not want to use this service, navigate to the application manager and disable it.
A: Try one of the following steps.
If your mobile device system is Android 7.0 or later, please update Chrome Web Browser to the latest version (last updated on March 29, 2017).
If your mobile device system is Android 6 or earlier, please update Android System Web View (last updated on March 29, 2017).
A: Samsung Print Service Plugin doesn’t support printing SMS messages directly.
If you want to print SMS messages, copy the contents to an SPS supported app, and then print the content from that application. For example; the "Keep Notes" app.
A: While in the print preview screen, tap the down arrow to see additional options, then tap More Options. If your printer supports multiple quality levels you will be able to make a different selection.
A: Follow these steps to see the print status after you send a print job to the printer from your mobile device:
On your mobile device, swipe the notification bar (at the top of the screen) down, or tap on the print progress screen.
After the print job has completed, the job will no longer display under Print Spooler.
A: The Samsung Print Service Plugin only supports printing. To scan from your scanner or multi-function printer, use an appropriate application providing scan support, such as HP Smart.
A: On Devices running on Android 4.4 and above, the Samsung Print Service Plugin requires notification permissions, this allows the application to:
Notify user on print job status
Notify user if the printer is requesting for information such as credentials, some printers support feature such as user authentication
Many other notifications, that are required to keep the user updated about the printer status
A: On Devices running on Android 10, 11 or 12 , the Samsung Print Service Plugin requires location permission to support Wi-Fi Direct printers:

A: In order to support "Share to Print" feature, Samsung Print Service Plugin requires access to external storage on android devices to be able to read and write files in external storage.
